Job Purpose

The Senior Specialist Guarantees is responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of Guarantees, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining robust operational controls to mitigate risks. This role requires a deep understanding of Guarantee processes, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

1.Operational Management:

·        Oversee daily  operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.

·        Monitor and manage transactions, ensuring compliance with internal processes.

2. Risk Management and Compliance:

·        Develop and implement operational controls to mitigate risks associated with Guarantee issuance.

·        Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

3. Process Improvement:

·        Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and reduce operational bottlenecks.

·        Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the department’s practices remain current and compliant.

4. Reporting and Analysis:

·        Prepare and present regular reports on guarantee activities, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

·        Analyse transactional data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.

·        Develop and maintain dashboards and other tools to monitor performance and compliance.

Essential Qualifications -NQF Level

Bachelor’s degree, preferably a BCOM

Minimum Experience Level

·        Minimum 3 years people management experience

·        5 years  Financial Services experience in Guarantee Execution or Lending
