Job Purpose

To ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, optimal management of the bank’s property portfolio, and the effective operation and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.

Job Responsibilities

1. Procurement Management:

  • Overall purpose is to create and implement procurement strategy and policy; lead the procurement function; drive and implement the strategy for Nedbank Zimbabwe Limited. 
  • Ensure value added results for the Bank by partnering with stakeholders for effective consolidation and delivery on all business requirements.
  • Ensure a strategic partnership through established effective engagement channels by monitoring key expectations of stakeholders (internal/ external) and building long term relationships.
  • Promote a healthy culture by being a values-driven leader and strategic business partner through developing strong, trusting relations with all stakeholders.
  • Identify business risks and lead the management and control of the risks by analyzing Supply Chain processes, identifying risks areas, creating, and implementing mitigation strategy.
  • Manage supplier performance by leading performance surveys, analyzing performance, create corrective action plans, enforcing compliance to SLAs / contracts and making appropriate decisions to terminate/ renew contracts.
  • Provide appropriate leadership, guidance, development and coaching to the team to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

 

2. Property Management

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of all bank properties.
  • Ensure compliance with local property laws and regulations.
  • Manage lease agreements and property-related contracts.
  • Coordinate construction projects, property renovations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant laws and policies relating occupational health and safety on Bank properties.

3. Fleet Management:

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Bank’s vehicle fleet.
  • Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, insured, and compliant with regulations.
  • Monitor fleet performance and optimize usage to reduce costs.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments. 
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

 

4. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and manage the procurement, property management, and logistics teams.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

 

5. Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for procurement, property management, and logistics.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure cost control measures are in place.
  • Prepare financial reports and provide insights on cost-saving opportunities.

 

6. Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, property management, and fleet operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
     

Preferred Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Property Management, or a related field.
 

Preferred Certifications

CIPS

Minimum Experience Level

Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, property management, and logistics at senior managerial level
