Job Purpose

The emphasis of this position will be on the acquisition of new customers for the Bank to grow the asset and liabilities book, the provision of superior service levels, and development of new opportunities within an existing portfolio of clients through the marketing of the Bank’s products and services in a competitive Private Banking environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and growing an existing Private Banking client portfolio.
  • Meeting agreed upon sales targets.
  • Providing superior client services and enhancing the bank’s relationship banking concept.
  • To acquire and deliver banking solutions to Private Banking client segment by providing great client experiences and understanding client business and household banking needs. Deliver on all targeted products and services as measured through the relevant client management systems and the contribution statement.
  • Improve client service through delivering relevant products and services according to client needs.
  • Deliver banking solutions that meet client needs.
  • Proactively engage clients in a manner that is relevant to their specific circumstances.
  • Collaborate with specialists in client engagements to cross sell and create value-based solutions.
  • Ensure work is completed to agreed principles, process and procedures; progress reviewed, and corrective action taken where necessary.
  • Comply with risk standards, policies and procedures through training and development as required by group compliance framework.
  • Understand the bank's risk and credit policy and manage client expectations accordingly.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

Bachelors' Degree in Business / Finance / Marketing.

Minimum Experience Level

  • An applicable Degree in banking/credit management and/or applicable tertiary qualification will be a pre-requisite.
  • Minimum of five (5) years general banking experience of which at least three (3) years in a relationship management position.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of banking with particular emphasis on relationship management.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).
  • Sound knowledge of financial statements and analysis thereof.
  • Completed basic credit courses, and/or one year credit experience.
  • Namibian citizenship.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid Police Clearance (Ethics Certificate).
