Job Purpose
To assist Loan Originators in managing excesses and arrears and prepare and assess credit applications within the Bank’s policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Analysis of financial information in preparation of credit applications to make a recommendation based on the findings, within the credit parameters, to be presented to a higher mandate.
- Review and confirm collateral position of the client in preparation of credit applications
- Adhere to agreed turnaround times of credit applications without compromising validity and quality of assessment by complying with policies, procedures, processes, and standards.
- Filing and record keeping of reviews, and other ongoing conditions, as well as follow-ups on security documents.
- Identification of problem exposures and classification in accordance with BON guidelines.
- Providing correct and accurate reports to Credit Manager & Senior Management.
- Ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Assisting CIB Sales to secure sound-based lending in line with the bank’s strategy.
- Keeping abreast with changes in the micro and macro-economic, political, legislative, and social environment to provide proper lending advice.
- Interaction with Relationship Managers and administrators to ensure timeous services delivery / turn-around times to colleagues and clients.
Experience and Qualification requirements
- Must have an applicable B. Com degree, completed articles will be an added advantage
- 5 years’ experience in a credit-granting environment
- Experience in the accounting and business environment
People Specification
- Good understanding of basic credit requirements and client repayment ability assessment.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of financial information and the interpretation thereof.
- Knowledge of Bank of Namibia and Reserve Bank policies and rules are an advantage.
- Strong analytical and computer skills, good interpretative skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Must be able to meet stringent deadlines and perform under pressure.
