Job Purpose
To provide specialist advisory, consultation and operational support to stakeholders on Exchange Control matters, facilitate the approval of complex Exchange Control applications in accordance with Bank of Namibia (BON) rules, regulations and directives, and support compliance, process improvement, training and digital initiatives to mitigate regulatory and operational risks and enhance service delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advisory and support services on Exchange Control requirements relating to cross-border transactions and regulatory matters.
- Assist the Manager: Global Business with Exchange Control applications, regulatory submissions, stakeholder engagement and the implementation of regulatory directives.
- Support Relationship Managers, frontline staff and business units by providing technical guidance, practical solutions and regulatory interpretation on complex transactions.
- Ensure compliance with Exchange Control requirements by monitoring regulatory developments, identifying potential breaches and supporting the resolution of audit, risk and compliance findings.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and industry participants.
- Drive awareness of Global Business services by supporting business development initiatives, stakeholder engagement activities and the promotion of Exchange Control-related solutions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client service, support revenue growth and improve the utilisation of Global Business services across the Bank.
- Lead and support digital automation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, client experience, control effectiveness and service delivery within the Global Business environment.
- Identify, recommend and implement process improvements, operational efficiencies and control enhancements to strengthen the effectiveness of Global Business operations.
- Develop, review and maintain operational procedures, workflows and controls to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities Continue
- Design, coordinate and deliver training, coaching and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance Exchange Control awareness and capability across the Bank.
- Communicate regulatory changes and emerging trends to relevant stakeholders and provide guidance on their business impact.
- Maintain specialist knowledge of Exchange Control requirements, industry developments and best practices to support the achievement of the Global Business strategy.
Preferred Qualification
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration/Banking/legal or related studies.
Preferred Certifications
- Trade Finance, Treasury Management, Foreign Exchange or a related field will be an added advantage.
Minimum Experience Level
Minimum 7–10 years' banking experience, including at least 5 years' experience in Exchange Control, Foreign Exchange and/or a Global Business environment.
