Job Purpose

The develop and implement the functional operations capability, and strategy by aligning the different units to ensure growth (people, technology) and to assume overall accountability for the direction, performance, competitiveness and transformation of the Function; and develop, integrate, institutionalise the strategy, leadership, products, solutions, initiative, channels, people, process, culture, management and systems. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Meet cost targets without compromising service delivery or long-term growth / sustainability, by making decisions that will deliver both immediate and long-standing results thus ensuring sustainability.
  • Support business growth, market share and revenue targets through crafting efficient processes, and putting in place strategies that can be implemented and managed effectively.
  • Achieve results in ways that contribute Nedbank Private Wealth’s growth ambitions
  • Determine drivers and initiatives to meet goals and action plans to ensure sustainability by aligning the KPIs to the strategic initiatives. 
  • Develop and analyze MIS to drive strategy and decisions. 
  • Design budgets and business unit plans to satisfy key stakeholders through developing sound business cases. 
  • Build a culture of mutually rewarding relationships with clients through understanding and meeting their needs 
  • Build strong working relationships with the senior executives, peers & direct reports to enhance business performance, and provide timeous and accurate reporting. 
  • Maintain relationships with direct reports and employees at all levels to produce effective early-warning systems by ensuring time is allocated to one-on-one and group interactions. 
  • Develop constructive and productive relationships with governance bodies, empowerment partners, regulators, and communities to earn their trust and enhance Nedbank’s reputation by attending business meetings where relevant.
  • Manage Nedbank governance frameworks as applicable to the operations functional area. 
  • Getting the support of key partners and external key stakeholders to collaborate in achieving the Nedbank business objective. 
  • Optimize technology, systems, and processes continuously to drive productivity and efficiencies. 
  • Ensure business-wide policy, brand and other standards, regulatory & governance compliance. 
  • Determine and drive strategy & initiative to meet ongoing legislative & compliance requirements with relevant stakeholders 
  • Manage performance of reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports by taking corrective action as required, recognizing, and rewarding them. 
  • Empower team to make decisions and recommend tailored solutions to business unit specific problems, through coaching and mentoring practices. 
  • Develop and implement a strategy to build a differentiated culture of improvement and innovation by analyzing relevant surveys and information. 

People Specification

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

Post graduate qualification in Business Management

Minimum Experience Level

10 years Operations experience within the High-Net-Worth / Wealth Management environment, must have a minimum of 5 years in people management/leadership and managing a multi-disciplinary team.
