Job Purpose

To envision, lead and develop fit for purpose, integrated end- to end technical solutions across multiple technologies for the organisation, through inspirational technical leadership and visionary long-term thinking.

Job Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

• Analyse complex problems and craft solutions aligned with organisational standards, architectures, and constraints.
• Challenge boundaries thoughtfully and continuously seek improvements.
• Design holistically with a focus on sustainability, scalability, and future readiness.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead solution discussions through governance forums and secure approval from technology and domain specialists.
• Influence, negotiate, and obtain buy‑in from key stakeholders across the business.
• Break down solutions into executable components and support work sequencing, resourcing, and planning.

Delivery Support

• Contribute to detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Support software designers with lower-level designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to delivery.

Strategic Thinking

• Apply long-term product‑management mindset to all solutions.
• Keep abreast of evolving technologies, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure technical assets are continuously improved and remain sustainable.

People Specification

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

Preferred Qualification

BSc (Computer Science), BCom (Information Systems). Professional Qualification Level 6 (Look at new degree naming conventions)

Essential Certifications

Preferred Certifications

Togaf Certification, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or equivalent

Minimum Experience Level

Min 6  Years experience in a similar Technical Lead role.
