Job Purpose
To support in facilitating long term strategy development and provide company management with strategy updates. Develops and implements a strategy definition and implementation process in division; including measurements against long term strategy. Provides management with corporate performance measures, data analysis and competitor analysis and ensures functional alignment with Group strategy. Responsible for developing partnerships; strategic alliances and associations whilst representing the company’s views effectively.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and support Medium term and long-term strategy and ensure alignment with Group objectives.
Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Group Data - Analytics Plan and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned
- Monitor and drive execution of divisional strategy and action plans.
- Provide strategic insights through data analysis, competitor benchmarking, and performance metrics.
- Identify and implement improvements in business processes, systems, and services.
- Guide senior leadership with strategic recommendations and risk-aligned practices.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives and ensure delivery of high-impact, ROI-driven projects.
- Develop measurable action plans that translate strategy into execution.
- Foster a culture of innovation, transformation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to align strategic goals.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate progress and insights.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, ML, automation).
- Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).
- Ensure alignment to Group planning and definition requirements by establishing standardised frameworks.
- Ensure functional alignment with Group strategy by providing management with corporate performance measures, data analysis and competitor and market analysis
- Ensure strategic alignment and realisation by translating divisional and group strategy into effective; clear and measurable action plans.
- Provide guidance to top management with regards to potential areas of improvement.
- Achieve quality and cost competitiveness which is made transparent to the client by providing structured services which are benchmarked to the industry.
- Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.

- Data Analysis: Analysing data from various sources (internal and external) to inform strategic decisions.
- Meetings and Presentations: Regularly meeting with senior management and other stakeholders to discuss strategy and progress.
- Report Writing: Preparing and create comprehensive reports and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders, Exco Leadership,
- Project Management: Overseeing the implementation of strategic projects and ensuring they stay on track as per roadmaps, agreed prioritisation and milestones.
- Identify strategic opportunities through market analytics, data and research, co-ordinate strategic initiatives and support to reviewing targets and milestones set.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership and cross functional teams to align data strategies.
People Specification
- This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong communication skills to bridge the gap between data and market analysis and actionable business insights that inform a strategy.
- Attention to detail is important.
- Apply critical thinking to shape the bank of tomorrow.
- Understand and knowledgeable on Advanced Technology and Analytics such as ML, AI, Generative AI and Automation. Ability to keep up with the developing trends in technology (Tech savvy).
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor of Commerce: Financial Management , Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Minimum Experience Level
- 12 years working experience and relevant industry experience.
- 2+ years Management experience is preferred.
