Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategy Specialist to join our dynamic team within the Prevention, Collections, and Recovery realm at Nedbank Client Debt Management and Recoveries (CDR). The successful candidate will work closely with the management team to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing prevention, collections, and recovery processes. This position demands a deep understanding of the financial industry, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record in strategic consulting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviour to identify opportunities and risks in the prevention, collections, and recovery processes.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies to enhance efficiency, minimize risks, and improve customer experience within the specified domains.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis, modelling, and research to support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations based on industry best practices and emerging trends in prevention, collections, and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, adjusting as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to senior management, communicating complex ideas and strategies in a clear and concise manner.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

  • Master in Business Administration, Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Certifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 – 7 years of experience in strategic consulting
  • Management experience as part of the above years: 3 - 5 years

Expertise:

  • Proven expertise in prevention, collections, and recovery strategies within financial institutions.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a focus on simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead strategic initiatives to successful completion.
  • Proficiency in using analytical tools and software for data analysis and modelling.

Minimum Experience Level

  • 3-5 years experience in data / statistical analysis and Project Management in a financial environment.
