Title: Software Developer II

Job Purpose
The role is responsible for software development of high-quality, scalable, maintainable, re usable and robust solutions on Loyalty and Rewards using technologies applicable to the Loyalty and Rewards technology stack/landscape.
Job Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality software that meets functional and non-functional requirements.
- Develop critical and complex technical components within areas of accountability.
- Design and implement robust, scalable, supportable, and reusable solutions.
- Build and maintain ETL and data integration solutions using Ab Initio.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Design, develop, and maintain integration services using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
- Design, develop, publish, secure, and support APIs using IBM API Connect (APIC).
- Develop automation, orchestration, and support utilities using Python.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve production and system issues.
- Produce technical documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests.
- Manage deployment artifacts and support software release processes.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Engineering Lead(s), DevOps Engineers, and other development teams including cross-functional teams within Group-Technology.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
- Support operational stability and performance optimization of solutions.
- Provide technical mentoring and coaching to junior software developers.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, integration patterns, cloud services, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the achievement of business objectives and organizational values.
- Perform standby duties for a duration of a week (Monday to Sunday) on a rotational basis.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualification
- Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification or formal training in software development technologies. (Enhanced recommendation)

Minimum Experience Level
- Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies / delivery environments.
- Exposure to AWS cloud services will be advantageous.
