Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and motivated ServiceNow CMDB Specialist to join our Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) ecosystem. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and governance of configuration data across the enterprise while supporting ServiceNow Discovery and automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in ServiceNow administration and development, with hands-on experience in CMDB management, Discovery and platform automation

Job Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and optimise the ServiceNow CMDB (configuration Management Databse) platform.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness and integrity of Configuration Item (CI) data.
• Design, implement and maintain CMDB governance standards, policies and processes.
• Configure and support ServiceNow Discovery to automate asset and infrastructure population.
• Develop and maintain integrations, workflows and automation solutions within the ServiceNow platform.
• Identify and resolve CMDB data quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application and service owners to improve configuration management practices.
• Support ServiceNow platform enhancements, upgrades and releases.
• Produce reporting and dashboards related to CMDB health, compliance and data quality.
• Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to configuration management processes.
• Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders on CMDB and ServiceNow best practices.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

Preferred Qualification

Degree or Diploma in IT

Preferred Certifications

ServiceNow certification highly preferred, such as:

• Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in Discovery or CMDB (advantageous)

• Experience with ServiceNow automation, workflows and integrations.
• Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Configuration Management processes.
• Experience in enterprise-scale environments.
