Job Purpose

We are seeking a Securities Lending and Borrowing Specialist to join our dynamic financial markets team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing securities lending and borrowing operations, ensuring optimal utilisation of assets, and maintaining regulatory compliance. A strong background in finance or accounting is essential, with additional qualifications being advantageous.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of securities lending and borrowing activities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including trading, risk, compliance, and operations, to optimise lending and borrowing strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with counterparties, custodians, and external stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends and assess their impact on securities lending and borrowing activities.
• Resolve discrepancies and manage collateral requirements efficiently.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risks.
• Provide regular reporting and insights on securities lending and borrowing performance to senior management.
   

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

Preferred Qualification

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Honors or complementary higher qualifications advantageous.

Minimum Experience Level

• Proven experience in securities lending and borrowing, asset management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of securities lending markets, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools used in securities operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
