Job Purpose

To support the delivery of regulatory and reporting projects across the Nedbank Group by driving implementation, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

The role is responsible for supporting internal and external audit engagements, managing remediation of identified improvement opportunities, identifying RWA optimisation opportunities, assisting with automation of manual processes and translating regulatory requirements into accurate and effective reporting outcomes.

The position further supports business-as-usual system changes, automation and new product enhancements within the credit RWA calculation and reporting environment through the development of business requirements, engagement with both business and technical teams, and testing of implemented changes. A key component of the role is to understand, review, and optimise credit RWA, including SA-CCR and CVA processes, driving automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce operational risk, and improve control robustness.

The role also ensures alignment between Risk and Finance data through reconciliations, investigations, and stakeholder engagement, and supports the interpretation and implementation of regulatory guidance to ensure accurate, consistent, and compliant reporting across the Group.

Job Responsibilities

You will support and assist with the delivery of regulatory and reporting projects across the Nedbank Group by driving implementation, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

Project management of key deliverables, including co-ordinating the work and output of team members and contributors across the organisation.

Assisting with both internal and external audit, documentation, recommendations and resolving open items.

You will support product owners, to identifying system improvements and collaborating with business and ICT stakeholders to describe, prioritise and drive implementation of system enhancements.

You will develop controls and optimise processes to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and timeous delivery of regulatory reporting to the SARB PA and other stakeholders.

Your excellent communication, report writing, project management, data analysis, regulatory expertise and general credit knowledge combined with solid technical skills will be used to enhance processes, accuracy and efficiency for the calculation of credit RWA and related credit risk reporting and analysis for the entire group.

Interpret regulatory reforms and assess the impact on credit risk parameters, processes, results, and reporting.

People Specification

Qualifications

BSc Mathematics/Statistics, BSc Engineering, BCom Economics and Statistics, FRM, BSc Quantitative Risk Management or similar technical BSc.

 

Preferred Qualification

Post graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematics,  CFA/ FRM/CQF

Minimum Experience Level

5 - 8 years reporting ECAP, RCAP, Impairment modelling, Basel Modelling

Technical skills

SAS, SQL, credit RWA, banking regulations, SA-CCR, CVA, report writing, data analysis, process improvement and automation
