Job Purpose
Lead the definition and execution of the strategy, vision, and roadmap for Small Business Services digital solutions within Digital and Opti-channel, ensuring they deliver on business requirements, business case objectives, and measurable value. Manage the full product lifecycle, from concept and development to implementation, optimisation, and maintenance, while managing a delivery squad and guiding cross functional squads to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions. Provide expert product leadership and advisory support to ensure successful alignment with the Personal & Professional Banking cluster strategy.
Job Responsibilities
Product & Solution Strategy
- Develop digital onboarding and services solutions as well as product offerings based on research, segment insights, competitive analysis, pricing, and client needs.
- Continuously explore market opportunities, emerging technology, innovation, and industry trends to identify bestinclass digital solutions.
- Define new initiatives and enhancements to existing digital solution and products.
- Translate organisational strategy into functional product and operational requirements, including KPIs, SLAs, processes, and reporting.
- Own, prioritise, and manage product roadmaps and backlogs, including major feature development and iterative improvements.
Delivery, Execution & Governance
- Respond effectively to problems by applying structured problemidentification techniques and proposing appropriate solutions.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, risk, security, and marketconduct standards through established governance processes.
- Ensure endtoend solution design aligns with architecture roadmaps through continuous stakeholder engagement.
- Implement programme and project governance aligned to Agile methodologies and projectmanagement disciplines.
- Establish governance forums to manage escalated risks associated with solutions, products, programmes, and projects.
- Oversee testing signoff, deployment readiness, and postimplementation validation.
- Ensure operational readiness, including support and maintenance, callcentre processes, application health, and system stability—by defining and agreeing service levels as well as managing ongoing support and maintenance incidents and system stability.
Performance Management & Value Measurement
- Monitor solution performance, including adoption, impact, and adherence to business case and KPIs, using Solution Dashboards and Business Case Tracking.
- Prioritise delivery based on business value and ensure robust MI dashboards are in place to measure value delivered.
- Ensure effective optimisation of systems, processes, and technology through rootcause analysis, corrective action, and adherence to integration standards.
Innovation, Prototyping & Continuous Improvement
- Leverage emerging innovation to pilot, prototype, and incubate new digital solutions.
- Drive continuous optimisation of processes, structures, operating models, and business plans to enhance team delivery.
- Identify resource inefficiencies and promote optimisation through multiskilling and process improvement.
Stakeholder Management & Client Experience
- Deliver a worldclass, clientcentric experience through effective leadership, interventions, data led research (internal and external), customer insights and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional stakeholders to ensure alignment, smooth delivery, and operational excellence.
People Leadership and Culture
- Partner effectively with crossfunctional stakeholders to drive alignment, ensure seamless delivery, and uphold operational excellence.
- Provide leadership across squads, guiding teams and collaborating across functions to deliver highimpact products and solutions.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage and optimise delivery budgets, ensuring responsible planning and resource allocation with technical delivery partners.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in business, BCom IS, Engineering, Digital / Technology / Business Studies.
Preferred Certifications
- Industry/Product specific
Minimum Experience Level
- 7–10 years’ experience leading the end-to-end development, implementation, value measurement, and lifecycle management of key business or digital solutions, ensuring alignment to business requirements, business case objectives, and overall cluster strategy.
- Proven ability to manage full product and programme delivery, including strategy, planning, prioritisation, resourcing, and cross functional execution, while providing expert advice on complex product integration.
- 5 years+’ experience in a relevant feeder discipline such as Digital, Innovation, Agile, or SAFe.
- Experience in Small Business Services is advantageous.
