Job Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic senior professional with management experience, strong interpersonal skills and a unique combination of financial analytics, product management and commercialization, marketing & sales to drive the strategic development and innovation and growth of Individual Issuing credit card products for Consumer and Relationship segments in Nedbank.


In this role you will lead a small team of product managers in developing strategies for growth of the Nedbank credit card products and services across all segments based on client centred design and supported by market research, cost / benefit analysis, client needs assessment, prototyping, change management, marketing strategies, and overall product/service commercialisation that delivers a strong market share. The attendant responsibility is monthly reporting of all card related activities executed by the team and those executed within the respective Client Segments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive the commercial profitability of Individual Card Issuing products in relation to NIR, NII, CTI and profitability for Consumer and Relationship Banking segments.
  • Drive growth of balances and account usage in support of Card Market Share aspirations.
  • Engage, participate, and represent the interests of Card Issuing on strategic projects.
  • Accountable to provide client and business requirements that drive the growth strategy of Card and RBB.
  • Ensure that excellence in client experience is at the forefront of all initiatives for card products.
  • Ensure the relevance of product CVP deliverables to client, business and market objectives.
  • Provide priority to requirements and identify opportunities within the programmes to expedite delivery and generate revenue.
  • Develop business cases and revenue models to support Card initiatives.
  • Develop commercialisation strategies and plans to effectively take new innovations to market to ensure uptake and usage to realise business case benefits.
  • Accountable for the requisite compliance and risk activities associated with the development of product innovation (including new product approvals, regulatory requirements etc.).
  • Deliver business objectives by developing and enhancing processes which support card product portfolio growth effectively.
  • Monitor for continuous improvement by observation, analysing data and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Set expected performance output by meeting and agreeing with management.
  • Obtain and secure stakeholder buy-in to solution by presenting alternative solutions and recommending the best solution.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders by regular meetings and agreeing deliverables.
  • Recognise performance improvements by acknowledgement of business improvements from other stakeholders.

 

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

•    University degree in Business, Commerce, Mathematics or Engineering
•    Advanced Degree in the Disciplines Specified Above (Advantageous)

Minimum Experience Level

•    5+ years’ experience in a Product, Marketing, Business Development or Sales function
•    Credit cards, payment, or recurring payments industry experience with demonstrated financial acumen and experience managing P&L
•    Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment and to help simplify and create structure where none exists
•    Strategy development or product development experience preferred
