Role will be focussed on international payments but role may extend to other bank product focus areas within Financial Management space or associated value stream products linked to juristic payments.

Job Responsibilities

Product Strategy, Growth and Commercial Performance

  • Drive the planning, implementation and growth of juristic international payments for Small Business Services and Commercial Banking clients.
  • Clearly articulate the product vision, direction and priorities, including backlog prioritisation and delivery trade-offs.
  • Develop relevant product offerings informed by research, segment insights, client needs and competitive pricing.
  • Drive Non Interest Revenue (NIR) and/or Net Interest Income (NII) through sound business case input and commercial product development.
  • Create cost efficiencies through product innovation, process improvement and digitisation.

Stakeholder Alignment and Delivery

  • Build alignment across the organisation on the product direction, solution priorities and delivery roadmap.
  • Develop, drive and execute product development and growth in collaboration with segment and group stakeholders, applying agile principles.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for stakeholders across the project life cycle by engaging regularly and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Facilitate delivery by building collaborative relationships and influencing others to deliver within agreed timelines.
  • Represent RBB in relevant forums, including group forums, to enable best practice and improve the client journey.

Client Experience, Governance and Risk

  • Represent client insights and monitor product strategy implementation against agreed objectives and outcomes.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by driving the development and implementation of solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Ensure alignment with business requirements by engaging internal and external stakeholders and delivering enhancements where applicable.
  • Ensure that products adhere to compliance, operational risk and security standards by following legal, risk and governance processes.
  • Respond efficiently to issues by applying appropriate problem-identification techniques and proposing practical solutions.

Budget, Resource and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and manage the product budget according to strategic business requirements and realistic targets.
  • Manage project life-cycle costs by negotiating with suppliers and limiting unnecessary expenditure.
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by recommending effective ways to operate and add value to Nedbank.
  • Obtain buy-in for new or enhanced processes by highlighting business benefits and supporting implementation.

Culture, Development and Knowledge Sharing

  • Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values by aligning products, services and solutions to Nedbank and Business Unit plans.
  • Contribute to a culture that supports transformation goals by participating in Nedbank culture-building initiatives and supporting corporate responsibility initiatives.
  • Identify development opportunities through input and feedback from management and complete personal development plan activities within agreed timeframes.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with teams and stakeholders through formal and informal interaction.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

  • Postgraduate Qualification

Minimum Experience Level

  • 3-5 years in a product, service or sales development role
