Job Purpose
To provide technical leadership, analytical quality assurance, delivery governance, and people leadership for the analytics capability within Campaign Intelligence.
The role is responsible for ensuring that business priorities are translated into high-quality analytical execution through strong technical standards, effective workload management, robust governance practices, and continuous capability development. The successful candidate will lead a team of analytics and BI professionals responsible for delivering decisioning analytics, operational analytics, reporting, measurement, and optimisation insights that support business growth and customer engagement.
Acting as the link between business strategy and analytical execution, this role will ensure that analytical outputs are delivered with consistency, accuracy, reliability, and business relevance while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
Analytics Delivery Leadership
- Own end-to-end analytical delivery across the analyst team.
- Translate Campaign Intelligence business priorities into analytical work plans, outputs, and delivery schedules.
- Manage delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives and stakeholder demands.
- Govern analytical backlog, prioritisation, delivery cadence, and capacity allocation.
- Establish clear operating rhythms, delivery routines, and escalation paths.
Technical Leadership and Standards
- Define and maintain analytical methodologies, technical standards, and quality assurance principles.
- Establish standards for analytical code, data extracts, reporting logic, dashboards, and documentation.
- Lead technical reviews for complex analysis, reporting changes, and decisioning analytics outputs.
- Provide technical guidance on data profiling, data modelling, analysis design, and measurement approaches.
- Drive continuous improvement of analytical processes, tools, and ways of working.
Capacity and Resource Management
- Manage team workload allocation across strategic and operational analytics demand.
- Forecast capacity requirements and highlight resourcing constraints early.
- Resolve prioritisation conflicts in partnership with the Head: Campaign Intelligence.
- Protect strategic decisioning analytics capacity from being routinely absorbed by operational reporting demand.
- Ensure effective utilisation of analyst capability across the team.
Quality Assurance, Governance and Risk
- Own the analytical quality assurance process before outputs are shared with business stakeholders.
- Review methodologies, assumptions, calculations, and data logic for key analytics deliverables.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise data policies, governance standards, risk controls, and security requirements.
- Maintain controls around data quality, reporting accuracy, metric definitions, and dashboard changes.
- Identify analytical, reporting, and data risks and ensure appropriate remediation plans are in place.
People Leadership and Capability Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts and BI professionals.
- Coach analysts in technical methods, analytical problem-solving, quality standards, and stakeholder engagement.
- Establish clear performance objectives, development plans, and capability-building priorities.
- Build analytical career paths and deepen technical capability across SQL, data investigation, BI, reporting, and measurement.
- Create a culture of collaboration, delivery discipline, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
Analytics Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with Campaign Intelligence leadership to translate decisioning objectives into analytical requirements and work packages.
- Collaborate with data engineering, architecture, data governance, platform, and business teams to resolve analytical dependencies.
- Support opportunity sizing, decisioning optimisation, and measurement discussions through strong analytical delivery.
- Communicate technical considerations and delivery risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enable high-quality analyst contribution to executive insights, decision support, and Campaign Intelligence performance measurement.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree

Essential Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced Diploma or NQF Level 7 qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Management or a related quantitative discipline.
Advantageous
- Postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Financial Analytics or a related field; plus leadership or management qualification.
Minimum Experience Level
Essential
- 8-12 years' experience within analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data management, or analytical delivery environments.
- Proven experience delivering complex analytical solutions that support strategic business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience engaging, influencing, and partnering with senior business stakeholders.
- Experience implementing analytical standards, quality assurance practices, and governance controls.
- Strong exposure to translating business requirements into actionable analytical solutions and measurable outcomes.
Leadership Experience
- 3-5 years' experience leading analysts, BI professionals, data specialists, or analytics teams.
- Experience managing capacity planning, workload allocation, performance management, coaching, and capability development.
- Demonstrated success building, mentoring, and developing high-performing analytical teams.
- Experience managing delivery governance across multiple priorities, initiatives, and stakeholder groups.
