Position

Senior Financial Manager- Impairments

Why join our team!

This is a senior financial management role that uniquely blends the rigour of financial reporting with the analytical depth normally found in quantitative environments. It offers full ownership of PPB’s IFRS 9 ECL impairment process, giving candidates the opportunity to influence financial outcomes, shape insights presented to leadership, and operate at the intersection of Finance, Risk and Modelling. For finance professionals, this is a chance to elevate your technical toolkit—applying advanced Excel modelling, working with large financial dataset and working close to the Credit Lab. For candidates with a quantitative background, this role offers a meaningful shift into Finance without losing the analytical complexity you enjoy: you will still solve data‑driven problems, test assumptions, challenge models, and turn quantitative insights into financial decisions that shape the business.

Beyond its technical depth, this role is ideal for someone who is proactive, self‑driven, and thrives in a dynamic financial environment where accountability is high and the pace is fast. The hiring manager emphasised the need for an individual who can independently manage heavy workloads, deliver under pressure, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Finance, Credit Risk, Modelling and Business teams. It’s a perfect fit for financial analysts, senior finance professionals, and analytically strong quants who enjoy using numbers to tell a story, influence decisions, and operate in a role where financial leadership and quantitative insight come together. If you're looking for a career path that deepens your financial expertise while leveraging your modelling, data analysis, and problem‑solving strengths, this role offers the best of both worlds.

Job Purpose

To lead PPB’s end‑to‑end impairment reporting process with strong technical financial expertise and a high level of quantitative analytical capability.
