Job Responsibilities
- Design cloud‑native, distributed architectures on Azure (scalable, secure, resilient)
- Produce component and integration designs; ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Develop high‑quality software across multiple stacks (front‑end, back‑end, data/services)
- mplement robust APIs, message‑driven integrations, and event‑based workflows
- Own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, environment provisioning, and release automation
- Implement automated testing (unit, integration, contract, performance, security)
- Use agentic development, vibe coding, and spec‑driven AI to speed up design, coding, test generation, documentation, and operations
- Evaluate and integrate AI tools to streamline workflows and reduce cycle time
- Define patterns, templates, starter kits, coding standards, and governance guardrails
- Coach teams; document playbooks; champion adoption across squads
- Implement observability (logs, metrics, traces), SLOs/SLIs, and performance tuning
- Ensure fault tolerance, graceful degradation, and secure‑by‑design principles
- Evaluate and influence technology decisions
- Mitigate risk by evaluating risks and impacts on technology or domain
- Update the asset knowledge base
- Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values
- Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise
- Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities
- Contribute to the Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
- Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes, models and systems though agile thinking.
- Conduct self development both by mentoring others and being mentored
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
Degree or Diploma in IT
Preferred Certifications
Certificate in relevant Technology or Domain
Minimum Experience Level
Min 5 IT Experience with 3 years in relevant technology or domain
