Job Responsibilities

  • Design cloud‑native, distributed architectures on Azure (scalable, secure, resilient)
  • Produce component and integration designs; ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  • Develop high‑quality software across multiple stacks (front‑end, back‑end, data/services)
  • mplement robust APIs, message‑driven integrations, and event‑based workflows
  • Own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, environment provisioning, and release automation
  • Implement automated testing (unit, integration, contract, performance, security)
  • Use agentic development, vibe coding, and spec‑driven AI to speed up design, coding, test generation, documentation, and operations
  • Evaluate and integrate AI tools to streamline workflows and reduce cycle time
  • Define patterns, templates, starter kits, coding standards, and governance guardrails
  • Coach teams; document playbooks; champion adoption across squads
  • Implement observability (logs, metrics, traces), SLOs/SLIs, and performance tuning
  • Ensure fault tolerance, graceful degradation, and secure‑by‑design principles
  • Evaluate and influence technology decisions
  • Mitigate risk by evaluating  risks and impacts on  technology or domain
  • Update the asset knowledge base
  • Support the achievement of the  business strategy, objectives and values
  • Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise 
  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities
  • Contribute to the Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes, models and systems though agile thinking.
  • Conduct self development both by mentoring others and being mentored

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

Degree or Diploma in IT

Preferred Certifications

Certificate in relevant Technology or Domain

Minimum Experience Level

Min 5 IT Experience  with 3 years in relevant technology or domain
