Senior Credit Manager: SIC

Job Purpose
To manage a defined portfolio of sovereigns & associated financial institutions in sovereign & financial institutions credit unit (SICU) of NCIB, so as to contribute to the enablement of Nedbank optimally managing the credit risk associated with the portfolio & of quality assets on Nedbank and its subsidiaries books.
Job Responsibilities
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
- Provide a range of specialist credit risk management advisory services to the stakeholder portfolio to enable their transaction and solution - related endeavours.
- Maintain sound relations with all relevant stakeholders
- Provide guidance to less experienced Credit Managers and Credit Analysts
CREDIT APPLICATIONS/ REVIEWS IN PORTFOLIO
- Timeous delivery of quality SICU credit applications with recommendations to stakeholder's consequent to research, analysis & alignment with required assessment & classification frameworks.
MANAGEMENT REPORTS & INFORMATION/ FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE PROVIDED
- Assist in delivery of requisite management reports. Assist in provision of value adding sovereign & institutions related intelligence to stakeholders.
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
- Manage annual credit review of sovereigns & financial institutions relative to a review list schedule. Ensure quality of the review relative to pre-determined criteria is measured.
- Daily excess management Client Interactions(Domestic and Foreign Banks as well as Supranationals) as required Provide input into Legal agreements (including ISDA’s, VMCSA’s, GMRA’s and GMSLA’s) Keeping abreast of changing regulations in the OTC derivatives environment and ensuring compliance of counters in allocated portfolio
CREDIT RISKS MANAGED
- Suggest alternative funding solutions by making recommendations based on the credit policy guideline and the analysis based on the information provided.
- Appropriate management of risk/s in the defined function.
- Defined risk categories are managed at targeted levels driven by internal & external guidelines/policies/
- procedures/business rules, regulatory needs, defined parameters & compliance/governance requirements.

Essential Qualifications
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
Preferred Qualification
- B Comm (Hons) or relevant Business Management Degree
Essential Certifications
- CA, CFA, MBA
Minimum Experience Level
- 5 years' experience of credit risk management.
- Fully competent in credit assessment.
- Sovereign or FI Experience preferrable
