Job Purpose
Drive a Market Conduct culture of fair treament throughout the business ensuring high levels of regulatory compliance and documentation governance. The primary purpose of the Senior Manager: Market Conduct role is to lead, govern, and embed the Market Conduct agenda across the business, ensuring that customers are treated fairly and that all products, services, processes, and customer interactions align with regulatory expectations and customer outcome requirements.
The role serves as the team's Market Conduct subject matter expert, providing specialist guidance, oversight, and governance to ensure the bank delivers fair customer outcomes while effectively managing conduct risk.
Job Responsibilities
- Identifying areas for improvement; recommend product or business rule enhancements
- Monitor, own and participat in business projects
- Provide input, advise and assist in ensuring timeous implementation of projects
- Ensure Executives are informed of project progress
- Post production monitoring and implementation
- Continuosly manage cost and efficiency od utilised communication channels
- Maintain strong relationship with Cluster Legal, Nels, CIA and Forms management
- Mainatain relationships withing cross functionally within in business unit and across cluster
- Accountable for the Market Conduct and culture progrem within the respective business unit
- Maintain strong relationship with MCCP Group office
- Analyse MCCP requirements for the various business streams
- Engagement with the business representatives and Executive to ensure all requirements are met
- Share knowledge and industry trends with the team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction
- Obtain buy-in for developing new and enhanced processes that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations
- Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievements of transformation goals by particiating in Nedbank Culture building
- Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualification
- Degree in Risk/ Compliance/ Legal or any relevant qualification
Minimum Experience Level
Market Conduct Experience (Essential)
- Proven experience in Market Conduct, Conduct Risk, Customer Fairness, or Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
- Demonstrable experience applying conduct principles within a regulated financial services environment.
Stakeholder Management Experience (Essential)
- Previous people management or leadership experience.
- Ability to influence senior executives, product teams, risk teams, and business stakeholders on conduct matters.
Governance and Conduct Oversight Experience (Essential)
- Experience leading or facilitating Conduct Committees, Governance Forums, Risk Forums, or Conduct-related initiatives.
- Ability to drive and oversee the Conduct agenda across the business
Relevant Experience Level (7-10+ Years) (Essential)
- At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in Market Conduct, Conduct Risk, Compliance, Product Governance, Customer Fairness, or related fields.
- Sufficient seniority to act as a subject matter expert and provide specialist capability within the team.
