Job Purpose

  • To lead large process engineering team, including work allocation, quality management and capability development, in order to support the planning, estimation and delivery of process improvement and process engineering work to agreed time, budget and quality targets, in accordance with organisational standards and senior stakeholder agreements. 
  • Be able to provide input into the organization's strategy planning process and sets, and implements strategy for appropriate business cluster or area of responsibility. 
  • To build and grow staff through the talent management process to ensure delivery excellence and strengthen process leadership, process improvement and process engineering capabilities. 
  • Be able to execute business area operational requirements to ensure its compliance, viability and success. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise process strategy and roadmap, translating organisational priorities into a prioritised portfolio of process optimisation, standardisation, automation and transformation initiatives. 
  • Establish and enforce the process management framework, governance, standards, methods, tools and decision rights, ensuring consistent application across business areas and delivery teams. 
  • Own and govern the material process register, ensuring material processes, accountable process owners, dependencies, risks, controls and performance measures are accurately recorded, regularly reviewed and updated in line with organisational governance and reporting requirements. 
  • Lead end-to-end process discovery, design and optimisation across organisational boundaries, removing duplication, complexity, control gaps and non-value-adding activities while improving customer and colleague outcomes. 
  • Partner with senior executives, process owners, technology leaders, risk and control functions to agree process outcomes, resolve cross-functional constraints and secure decisions, funding and sponsorship for priority initiatives. 
  • Define process performance measures, baselines and targets; use data, customer insights and operational intelligence to identify root causes, prioritise interventions and demonstrate measurable benefits. 
  • Own the process improvement pipeline and benefits realisation approach, ensuring initiatives have clear cases for change, accountable owners, delivery milestones, adoption plans and sustainable value measures. 
  • Direct and prioritise process resources across projects, squads and business-as-usual initiatives, balancing strategic value, capacity, dependencies and delivery risk to achieve agreed outcomes within budget, quality and timelines. 
  • Embed risk, compliance and control requirements into process design; oversee control effectiveness, operational resilience and remediation of material process weaknesses. 
  • Lead the Process function by setting clear accountabilities, allocating work, managing demand and capacity, assuring quality and driving productivity, consistency and continuous improvement. 
  • Provide clear, timely executive reporting on process portfolio performance, strategic outcomes, benefits realisation, material risks, dependencies and decisions required, enabling informed leadership oversight and action. 
  • Lead the Group Finance Business Process Management discipline, embedding end-to-end process ownership, lifecycle governance, standardised modelling and continuous improvement practices to strengthen process maturity and organisational performance. 
  • Ensure direct reports understand and support Nedbank's vision, values and strategy and contribute to a culture of transformation including Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) 
  • Champion process-led transformation and remain current on process management, automation, digital enablement and leading practices, applying relevant innovations to improve enterprise performance. 
  • Lead the enablement, adoption and enterprise rollout of SAP Signavio process transformation tools, embedding consistent modelling, mining, analysis and collaboration practices while developing and transitioning team members into skilled process improvement specialists. 
  • Ensure talent management processes and policies are adhered to for all staff 
  • Ensure that strategic actions are delivered within planned budget, timeline and with expected quality. 
  • Build a high-performing process capability through coaching, succession planning, professional development and quality assurance, while holding teams accountable for adherence to agreed standards, methods and tools. 

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

  • Relevant IT Degree and or Industrial Engineering and Leadership Qualifications 

Essential Certifications

  • Signavio certification through SAP.  

Preferred Certifications

  • Industry body certified qualifications in business process management or process engineering (such as ABPMP), and TOGAF where relevant. 

Minimum Experience Level

  • 11 years+ 

  • 11 years’ experience in process leadership, process improvement or process engineering roles, including experience leading large teams.
