Job Purpose

To provide specialist occupational assessment services; advice and education across Nedbank to assist business units in reaching human capital objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • To complete assessment trainings, administration, candidate engagement and feedback to ensure readiness for HPCSA board exam after internship completion.
  • Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI. Identify opportunities to influence the improvement or enhancement of business processes and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance by conducting all assessments within the transformation guidelines.
  • Ensure flow of work and client requirements are met. 
  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are met.
  • Evaluate and select assessment vendors' services and assessment offerings for implementation.
  • Create synergies and alignment across various projects.
  • Build credibility of assessment unit and establish collaborative relationships, Address business needs by providing relevant assessment advice and solutions. Ensure that work is completed to plan by selecting the most appropriate assessment battery based on the job profile for each occupational assessment request, under the guidance of the supervising psychologist.
  • Coordinate occupational assessment sessions.
  • Ensure general assessment administration requirements are met.
  • Conduct occupational assessment sessions, ensuring that candidates understand and sign the register and consent form.
  • Deliver on assessment results by ensuring that assessments are scored correctly and feedback generated within SLAs. Ensure compliance with regards to occupational assessments.
  • Contribute to assessment policies, procedures, standards and processes in collaboration with Supervising Psychologist.
  • Comply with risk standards by flagging all possible risks to Assessment Manager, ensuring corrective action. Meet stakeholder requirements by designing competency based assessments.
  • Identify and analyse client requirements and project objectives by engaging with stakeholders.
  • Deliver on project requirements.  Meet project objectives, timelines and costs.
  • Ensure that project objectives are delivered and communicated within timelines, budget and quality standards through stakeholder engagement.
  • Finalise and administer projects. Improve client service and results by initiating instrument validation, together with the Supervising Psychologist. Improve personal and professional capability by identifying training courses.
  • Ensure personal growth and application of new competence in function.
  • Ensure upskilling takes place and effective handover to relevant responsible person.
  • Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes.

Job Responsibilities Continue

  • Ensure compliance to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) by maintaining Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
  • Remain relevant in field of expertise. Identify trends or areas of concerns by initiating research projects with assessment vendors and supervising psychologist. Write integrated competency-based feedback reports.
  • Initiate validation and other research projects and trend analysis together with Assessment Providers and the Supervising Psychologist.
  • Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.
  • Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise.
  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities.
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes, models and systems though agile thinking. Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.
  • Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise , ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities.
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy.
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes, models and systems though agile thinking.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree

Preferred Qualification

  • Honours in Psychology or B- Psych qualifications.

Minimum Experience Level

  • Completed Honours Degree in Psychology or in progress of qualification and ready for practicals.
  • Open to candidates with no work experience.
