Job Purpose

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment and achievement of strategy and create a completive advantage by translating the Nedbank and Business Unit strategy into a customised Divisional strategy.
  • Develop and introduce a people strategy that will create a culture that drives the Cluster and Nedbank's vision and values.
  • Build a high performance team.
  • Ensure that the leadership agenda has been embraced by the division/function.
  • Manage performance of reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports.
  • Actively build a culture of improvement.
  • Participate in the recruitment of senior staff.
  • Optimise performance and motivation.
  • Empower team to make decisions and recommend tailored solutions to Business Unit specific problems.
  • Ensure alignment to governance and compliance requirements.
  • Drive effective and efficient service or product delivery. Optimise productivity of the function by growing the maturity of processes and supporting technologies year on year.
  • Realise improved business delivery.
  • Foster and enable innovation, increasing the value add of the function. Identify innovative trends that could enhance the value-add of the function.
  • Ensure decisions are made in the best interest of the business.
  • Ensure commercial soundness and relevance through end to end financial management of the functional unit. Leverage opportunities to create a competitive function and a commercially successful function.
  • Establish and drive the business strategy of the function. Maximise exposure to new trends and build competitiveness in the market.
  • Ensure projects results are delivered by ensuring client IT spend is optimised across the services portfolio and managed for added value.
  • Ensure portfolio of services or projects are configured to drive priority delivery.
  • Ensure the achievement of targets by monitoring implemented Divisional EE and Transformation Plan, correcting any deviations.
  • Analyse deviations from Divisional EE and Transformation Plan and ensure recommended corrective action is appropriate and implemented.
  • Support Nedbank strategy by driving corporate citizenship.
  • Develop, implement and measure the effectiveness of a strategy to build a differentiated culture.
  • Ensure services to client meet expectations.
  • Support execution capability by ensuring Divisional and group strategy is translated into effective and clear business plans.
  • Drive collaboration and integration across functional areas within the GT value chain and into the client environment.
  • Deliver client value through alignment with strategic intent.
  • Ensure optimal functional service delivery.
  • Manage the ongoing commercial client relationship and service experience.
  • Foster strong relationships by acting as champion of the Nedbank Strategy and IT strategy, guiding client portfolio's with a Nedbank first mind-set.
  • Enable achievement of functional Business Unit objectives.
  • Continue to build the value of IT Services.

Job Responsibilities Continue

  • Develop and execute an infrastructure strategy that supports the organization's business objectives and encompasses all aspects of the infrastructure services stack.
  • Manage hybrid infrastructure deployments, ensuring seamless integration and operation between on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud-native services and solutions where they offer clear benefits
  • Oversee the full day-to-day operations of the company’s infrastructure platforms, ensuring effective management, maintenance, and support.
  • Fin Ops and Financial Management Experience
  • Cloud Experience (AWS, Azure, OCI or Google)
  • Proven track record on Application modernization

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Required Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Essential Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in cloud services, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and financial management or FinOps certifications

Minimum Experience Level

  • 5+ years Executive Management 10-15 years Business Management
  • Proven ability to lead strategic planning, operations, and complex migration projects from on-premises to cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost management and financial oversight of IT services, with knowledge of Cloud FinOps principles and practice.
