Job Purpose

To assume end-to-end accountability for the strategic direction, sustainable performance, transformation of all products in Transactional Services in line with Nedbank CIB and Group strategy and objectives, by leveraging resources, collaborating with and influencing stakeholders in executing strategy. This role will oversee the entire product strategy for Transactional Services, from Product vision to execution, ensuring that all products the business creates align with customer needs and the company's goals. They will also be responsible for driving innovation, shaping product experiences, and making strategic product decisions that will result in market share growth for Transactional Services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and drive a commercial strategy and vision for all products in Transactional Services by leading, directing and guiding teams in prioritising and executing new and existing products.
  • Have a comprehensive product strategy  and roadmap to deliver on CIB strategic goals for  Transactional Services.
  • Ensure that our product suite cater effectively for juristic clients in Nedbank
  • Build a sustainable team with the ambition to grow TS market share to our desired fair share as per set 3 year plan. Drive innovation through the adoption of new technologies, testing out bold product ideas and exploring untapped markets to keep CIB ahead of the curve.
  • Deliver on product returns by managing expenditure; cost to income ratios and headline earning targets for the year. Take responsibility for all financial returns for the product suite including capital allocation and financial loss.
  • Work closely with the TS Sales team and Client coverage to deliver on client plans and strategic goals.
  • Work very closely with Group technology on product costing, transfer pricing and build or buy decisions regarding new and existing products.
  • Further Nedbank's image as a responsible corporate citizen by guiding Nedbank Cluster corporate citizenship direction.
  • Ensure delivery of client experience through comprehensive product strategies
  • Drive achievement of Cluster and TS strategic objectives by developing a strategic plan; framework and budget.
  • Oversee the TS Products’ profit and loss (P&L) and ensure the product’s budget aligns with business objectives by optimising resource allocation, pricing strategies, and balancing investment in innovation with the need for profitability.
  • Optimise client experience and productivity by ensuring alignment and execution of strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Ensure sustainable business through alignment of business structures; systems; processes and people.
  • Ensure compliance to ERM risk frameworks by managing through set governance structures.
  • Ensure compliance; identification and mitigation of risk by adhering to the risk framework principles.
  • Ensure development; maintenance and growth of client relationships through execution of client engagement strategies for our product suite together with the sales teams
  • Contribute as part of the TS MANCO  team through proactive engagement and collaboration .
  • Build trusting relationships with direct reports and employees by being a values driven leader.
  • Build and maintain proactive and constructive relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders through regular engagement and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent Nedbank brand and enhance its reputation by deepening relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Achieve CIB Cluster culture objectives by monitoring and managing staff morale and targeted progression.
  • Contribute to Nedbank being the most transformed Bank by enabling accelerated transformation and positioning of TS.
  • Create a supportive learning environment by providing opportunities for growth; motivating; coaching and guiding staff.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
  • Master’s Degree

Minimum Experience Level

Minimum 10 years’ experience at an executive manager level and minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in Financial Services industry.
