Job Purpose

To lead a team of managers originating and managing the bank's portfolio of accounts to minimise the bank's loss and grow the business where possible through tracking deviations, implementing corrective actions, setting targets and removing barriers for delivery. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Develop and keep mandate structure effective by reviewing annually and aligning to person experience, capability and role. 
•    Ensure issues raised in culture survey are addressed and results are improved by ensuring action plans are created and executed.
•    Deliver a world class service through others by ensuring a client centric culture through required interventions.
•    Identify areas of resource inefficiencies and promote optimisation through promoting multi-skilling and addressing capacity gaps by reviewing and improving work processes.
•    Limit loss by monitoring credit risk against approved limits and risk appetite including the ongoing assessment of impairments on high-risk clients.
•    Assess new deals by evaluating credit proposals and recommending decisions/action to the relevant mandated authority, as sponsor or credit committee member.
•    Interpret and interrogate risk rating/pricing models to ensure accurate reflection of risk.
•    Manage performance of direct reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their direct reports by implementing performance agreements; ensuring a clear vision; agreeing on goals and objectives; providing regular feedback on performance; recognising and rewarding achievement and take appropriate corrective action where required.
•    Provide input of all relevant credit risk information to stakeholders enabling decision making and group reporting.
•    Assess and manage assessment of compliance with credit decision approvals to ensure accurate implementation.
•    Manage assessment and negotiation of new deals by evaluating credit proposals and recommended decisions put forward by the team (credit and business).
•    Provide technical input to stakeholders to enable decision making and ensure high-quality service levels during the processing/assessment of transactions.
•    Meet own and stakeholder objectives by identifying; building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders impacted by credit risk.
•    Ensure client satisfaction and profitability by driving the development of solutions and implementing solutions
 

Essential Qualification - NQF Level

- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

•    Chartered Accountant (CA/Chartered financial Analyst (CFA) MBA.

Minimum Experience Level

•    8 - 10 years credit exposure experience with decision making, 3 -5 years people management experience.
