Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Snr Financial Business Analyst to align data initiatives with strategic company goals and financial planning objectives.
  • Conduct elicitation and collaboration tasks to obtain information from stakeholders, ensuring data anomalies and inconsistencies are surfaced and addressed early.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and design definition to structure, organise, specify, and model requirements and designs, with a focus on identifying and resolving data quality issues and anomalies.
  • Conduct Requirements Life Cycle Management tasks to manage and maintain requirements and design information from inception to retirement, including tracking resolution of data-related anomalies.
  • Conduct strategy analysis to define the future and transition states needed to address the business need, the work required to define that need, and the scope of the solution.
  • Conduct Solution Evaluation to assess the performance and value delivered by a solution and eliminate barriers/constraints—including data anomalies—that prevent full realisation of value.
  • Execute according to IIBA best practices, agile product delivery, and lean principles based on Nedbank's delivery approach as per the BA methods, frameworks, standards, tools, techniques, competencies, and practices.
  • Analyse and document requirements based on changes to users' interfaces, processes, data flows, constraints, environments, and non-functional requirements, with a strong emphasis on identifying and resolving anomalies in data.
  • Understand the portfolio's strategic themes, product roadmap, vision, KPIs and metrics, and align requirements accordingly.
  • Understand all elements of the program and team backlog and align requirements accordingly.
  • Explore and articulate the opportunity/problem to be solved and identify stakeholder wants and needs; participate in defining the proposed solution, especially where data anomalies impact business outcomes.
  • Use visual diagrams and collaborative games to model scope, interfaces, story context, data flows, processes, retrospectives, and dependencies across projects.
  • Decompose and document epics, features, themes, hypothesis statements, PI objectives and user stories by identifying gaps, missing stories, acceptance criteria, scenario development, and all requirement categories.
  • Own decomposition of portfolio epics, features, elicitation analysis, and story writing throughout the requirements value chain.
  • Collaborate/co-create process capability alignment by pairing with PE Business Architect.
  • Support team in working on impediments, spikes, enabler epics, enabler stories; synthesise data, articulate requirements, and proactively identify anomalies and inconsistencies.
  • Work with development/QA to identify test cases/scenarios, conduct user acceptance testing, train trainer/user support, change management, and commercialisation.
  • Analyse/document data requirements, model data flows through seven product dimensions, and pair with BDMs at solution/program level to identify and resolve anomalies.
  • Foster stakeholder relationships, engagement, discovery, delivery, backlog refinement, dependencies, enterprise delivery, senior level.
  • Conduct system demos, offer and implement suggestions for improvement, especially in areas where data anomalies affect performance.
  • Ensure early remediation by reducing waste and rework, identifying risks and issues—including those arising from data anomalies.
  • Drive minimum viable thinking, continuous deployment/integration; ensure review, maintain quality, reduce waste, control and identify risks/issues.

Additional Role-Specific Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Support:

  • Review the reasonableness of cluster submissions.
  • Implement analytics to assist with budget reviews, gap identification, and trend analysis.
  • Ensure BI and BPC systems are balanced and reconciled

 

Technology & Automation:

  • Continuously automate and improve financial processes to reduce repetitive tasks performed by financial officers.
  • Determine and advise on optimal product mix for efficient and accurate BI reporting.

 

Customer Experience & Service Design:

  • Enhance service approach and design to ensure a positive and seamless customer experience.

 

Risk & Audit Management:

  • Proactively manage risk and audit issues, ensuring compliance and data integrity across reporting systems.

Technical/Professional Knowledge

  • The candidate should ideally display proficiency in aspects of the SAP product suite, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel and Power Apps.
