Job Purpose

To assist in the development of strategic solutions and blueprints to solve stated business challenges with the BizDevOps team. Assist business customers with the delivery of their applications via an automated pipeline to be first to market with their ideas. 

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate within functional areas and across teams to create  Software Deployment Pipelines
• Build-out, and administer full life-cycle of selected BizDevOps technologies under the guidance of a DevOps Lead
• Work together with the DevOps Lead to design and/or development, testing and evaluation of systems and infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code preferably)
• Maintain the created Deployment pipelines where applicable
• Assistance with creating DevOps patterns and practices for development teams under a DevOps Lead
• Manage  concurrent objectives and making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation for a single squad
• Maintain and facilitate compliance with company, security and regulatory standards
• Foster innovation within the BizDevOps team to assist the team to continuously improve
• Support the achievement of the  business strategy, objectives and values
• Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise 
• Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities
• Contribute to the Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
• Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy
• Seek opportunities to improve business processes, models and systems though agile thinking.

• Collaborate with the Green Engineering team on the design, development, testing, and evaluation of systems and infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code).
• Foster personal growth and enhance performance in roles and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement features.
• Stay updated on developments in Software Engineering, Cloud Sustainability, Sustainable IT.

People Specification

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

Preferred Qualification

• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
• Degree in computer science, math or software engineering or equivalent technical experience
• BSC Computer Science, Btech, Relevant applicable Qualifications
• Cloud certification is preferred above fundamentals (e.g AWS, Azure)
• One of the following certifications would be advantageous: DevOps Certification, LPI, RHCE, RHCA, MCSE, MCSD,CSM,OCAJP,SCJA,OCPJP or any other technical certification

Minimum Experience Level

• 2+ years as a Software Developer in either or all of the following: Web Development, Windows Services Development, Mobile Development, Application Development, Back-end Development, Cloud Computing; or
• 2+ years as a Systems Administrator on multiple platforms on-premise and in the CloudDevOps experience in cloud deployment
• Azure and/or AWS experience
• Azure DevOps experience
• Automation products such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, SlatStack or Puppet (Beginner)
• Linux or Unix distributions RedHat Linux, Suse Linux, Devian, Ubuntu, AIX, SCO,HP/UX (Beginner)
• Bash and/or PowerShell scripting (Beginner)
