Job Purpose
  • Be part of the next generation data & analytics team driving data intelligence in Nedbank. You will be part of a broader team that have BI professionals and data scientists looking to work in a fast paced and agile environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • BI Developer in a Data Squad
  • R&D activities in BI Platforms
  • Mentoring & Coaching of Junior staff
  • Proficient at Designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions
  • Proficient in executing Data Ingestion Patterns aligned to Data Architecture principles (Must)
  • Proficient in Cube/Tabular development (SSAS)
  • Proficient in Data Modelling, Data Warehousing and Data Mart development  (Must)
  • Presenting information through reports and visualization (PowerBI)
  • Assist Analysts to analyse, innovate, and provide analytics on significant amounts of data to support company initiatives
  • Must manage the balance of current and future needs in both design and content.

  • This role is responsible for building new data sets and data structures as required to support business needs

Essential Qualification

Bachelor’s degree. (Comp Science\ Engineering\ Informatics\ Information Technology)

Minimum Experience Level
  • Min 2-5 years’ experience in BI/MI Data Analytics/Data Modelling

  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
  • Basic understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework (SSIS, SSAS, Ab Initio, Denodo)
  • Familiarity with BI technologies (Power BI, MicroStrategy)
  • Proficient Knowledge of SQL queries (SQL Server, Netezza, DashDB), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
Minimum Experience Continued
  • Good command of spoken and written English as they are service oriented and will be documenting business requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word is critical to daily work.
  • A proven ability to rigorously analyse complex issues and develop insights and solutions.
  • An ability to provide creative thinking and innovative methods.
  • An ability to work in mixed teams of colleagues and senior client executives.
