Job Purpose
To support and maintain the data warehouse in line with the data model and metadata repository, provide business intelligence analysis, and create interactive and dynamic visualizations to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Data Management: Structure data into compliance standards by adhering to metadata governance procedures according to documented standards and formats.
- Data Visualization: Design and develop interactive data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar technologies.
- Consulting: Provide data and information consulting services to business units.
- Vendor Management: Manage interactions with vendors according to guidelines.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve processes and identify innovation opportunities.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks within governance frameworks.
- Incident Resolution: Log and track incidents through appropriate channels.
- Legislation Awareness: Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry changes.
- Personal Development: Engage in training and career progression activities.
- Stakeholder Communication: Ensure accurate information sharing with stakeholders.
- Cultural Contribution: Participate in initiatives to build a conducive culture and support corporate social responsibility.

- Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Industry Trends: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data visualization.
Minimum Experience Level
Essential:
- 5+ years of experience in data visualisation or a related field
- Strong portfolio showcasing interactive and dynamic visualizations
- Proficiency in data visualisations tools like Tableau, Power BI or similar technologies
- SQL Fundamentals: Understanding of SQL Syntax , data types and query structures
- Strong understanding of data analysis and statistical concepts
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
Nice to have
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python, R, Java, or SQL.
- Knowledge of ibi Web Focus Designer.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Certification in data visualizations or related field.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
- Degree in Design or Information Technology or Business Management, Mathematical/Statistics
Essential Certifications
- Data Management (DAMA) Certification, Certification/formal training in relevant technology

- Data Warehousing
- Data profiling - intermediate
- Data Visualisation
- Data Governance and Compliance
- Data Pipelines and ETL tools (Ab Initio, ADB, ADF, SAS ETL)
- Databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, IBM DB2, HBase, MongoDB)
- Programming (e.g., Python, R)
- Cloud Data Engineering (Azure , AWS, Google)
- Administrative procedures, banking knowledge, business principles, data analysis, governance, Microsoft Office, relevant software and systems, business writing skills.
