Job Purpose

To ensure the implementation of Nedbank enterprise data capabilities, standards, processes and procedures applicable to the Group Finance cluster through collaboration and influence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop cluster data capabilities, plans and communicate those to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Become a trusted advisor to, influence decision making of stakeholders by providing an advisory service, guidance and support on data capabilities practices, processes and training requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to influence the improvement or enhancement of business processes and methodologies by researching and recommending improvement data initiatives and effective ways to operate and add value to Nedbank.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand and execute Nedbank’s Vision, Values and Strategy specifically Nedbank Data practices.
  • Create a simplified low-cost risk data capability operating platform.
  • Deliver promised results through ensuring plans are approved and accepted.
  • Manage resources in executing and achieving business strategy and associated metrics.
  • Ensure business area complies with Nedbank standards, policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Make quality and timeous decisions.
  • Monitor and manage client, service providers, partners and other stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure communications and building relationship networks.
  • Contribute to team effectiveness and transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building, business strategy and CSI initiatives.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision, values and lead by example.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.
  • Manage performance of direct reports and hold them accountable by implementing performance agreements and ensuring a clear vision.
  • Share knowledge and insights with team members and management.
  • Deliver world class service by ensuring a client centric culture.
  • Create an environment whereby team members are encouraged to challenge the status quo and initiating constructive debates about work practices for improvement of processes, productivity and reduce costs.
Minimum Experience Level
  • 2-4 years Data Management
  • 2-4 years IT operations experience
  • 2-4 years leadership/management experience
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification

Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) or Certified DAMA (CDMP)

Essential Certifications
  • DAMA certified data management professional (CDMP) or similar data management certification
