Job Purpose
- To acquire new, manage and grow the state-owned enterprises portfolio within the Corporate and Institutional Banking Division.
- To establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with state-owned enterprises, understanding their financial needs, co-creating transformative and tailored banking solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to manage and grow the state-owned enterprises portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in state-owned enterprises.
- Identify and assess the financial needs of State-Owned Enterprises and provide appropriate banking solutions.
- Engage and collaborate with State-Owned Enterprises on solutions to promote private sector growth.
- Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives, and values.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other divisions to provide comprehensive banking services.
- Thought leadership presentations at public enterprises forum.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting State Owned Enterprises.
- Prepare and present regular reports on portfolio performance to senior management.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with regulations and corporate governance guidelines to avoid risk.
- Suggest improvements on processes and systems to improve efficiencies, outputs, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
- Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified timeframe.
- Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
- Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- An MBA will be an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- AIBOZ/ CIS/ CIMA/ ACCA/ CA
Minimum Experience Level
Minimum of 7 years' experience in business banking, with a focus on corporate or institutional clients, 3 of which must have been in a managerial position.
