Job Purpose

To lead Nedbank Property Finance within the region, driving sustainable growth, profitability and market share across the Corporate and Commercial Property Finance portfolio. Accountable for business performance, client acquisition and retention, portfolio quality, risk management, and execution of strategic objectives to achieve targeted returns and long-term value creation.

Job Responsibilities

Business Growth and Financial Performance

  • Develop and execute the regional business strategy aligned to Nedbank Property Finance objectives.
  • Deliver agreed financial targets, including revenue growth, profitability, return on equity (ROE), and portfolio growth.
  • Grow market share through the acquisition of new clients and expansion of existing client relationships.
  • Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities across Nedbank's product and service offerings.
  • Ensure optimal deployment of capital through disciplined portfolio and balance sheet management

Client and Market Leadership

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, developers, investors, intermediaries and industry stakeholders.
  • Position Nedbank Property Finance as a leading provider of property finance solutions within the region.
  • Drive client-centric solutions that enhance client retention, satisfaction and wallet share.
  • Represent Nedbank in the property industry and strengthen the bank's market presence and reputation.

Credit, Risk and Governance

  • Ensure effective management of credit, regulatory and operational risks across the regional portfolio.
  • Maintain high asset quality through prudent credit decision-making and proactive portfolio management.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, governance and risk management frameworks.
  • Drive early identification and mitigation of emerging portfolio and market risks.

Strategic and Operational Leadership

  • Lead the execution of strategic initiatives and business plans to improve performance, efficiency and scalability.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective management of people, processes, systems and resources.
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement to enhance client service, productivity and business outcomes.
  • Contribute actively to the Property Finance Executive Committee and broader CIB leadership structures.

People and Culture

  • Lead, develop and retain a high-performing team capable of delivering sustainable business results.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion and continuous learning.
  • Drive succession planning, talent development and transformation objectives.
  • Ensure performance management practices support achievement of business and people objectives.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, Engineering Property, Economics, Law, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Professional designation or industry-specific qualification will be advantageous.

Minimum Experience Level

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in property finance, banking, real estate investment or a related financial services environment.
  • Proven experience in leading large client-facing teams and managing significant business portfolios.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, credit risk management and delivery of financial performance targets.
  • Executive or senior leadership experience within a financial services or property-related business environment will be advantageous.
