Job Purpose


To provide market leading strategic direction, leadership, and management of the FX & MM Sales team within the KZN Region of Nedbank CIB.

Job Responsibilities

Market Growth and Revenue Generation:

  • Grow Nedbank’s market share of FX & MM flows.
  • Grow Nedbank’s revenues earned from FX, with an emphasis on expanding revenue from derivative solutions.
  • Achieve and surpass budget targets by growing the client base through both retention and wallet share growth of existing client business and acquisition of new client business.

 

Client Strategy and Relationship Management:

  • Develop and deliver a client strategy through collaboration with all necessary internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain constructive and healthy relationships with all key clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and improve our client engagement model and product set to drive a high-performance sales culture within Nedbank and increase awareness of Nedbank’s FX and MM sales and trading capabilities in the marketplace.

 

Digital and Innovation:

  • Drive a digital-first approach and the adoption of new technology to yield a competitive advantage and deliver the Global Markets strategy and business goals.
  • Encourage the development of collaborative solutions through interdivisional coordination, cross-selling, idea generation, innovation, convergence, and client alignment to realize synergies from different divisions within Nedbank CIB and intra-cluster within Nedbank

 

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Perform regular competitor analysis and identify market trends.
  • Develop data-driven and succinct dashboard views of the segments comprising the FX sales business to provide regular updates to Markets management.

 

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Apply relevant risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and codes of conduct.
  • Grow market share through execution projects in accordance with approved processes, risk management, and regulatory guidelines.

 

People and Culture:

  • Mentor and develop your direct reports.
  • Create and role-model a high-performance culture that enables continuous innovation, growth, and learning in line with the Markets Culture Manifesto.
  • Develop a pipeline of internal talent through clearly defined development goals and career plans to ensure Nedbank’s transformation and succession planning needs are fulfilled.
  • Deliver against Nedbank’s transformation goals through succession planning and talent retention and acquisition.
  • Support a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus, and service, and encourages individual integrity.

 

Strategic Alignment:

  • Ensure business objectives and long-term growth targets are achieved by formulating and implementing a high-performance sales strategy in line with CIB Strategy.
  • Ensure deposit market share alignment with Group ALCO and TBF targets and CFD tactical liquidity requirements.
     

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree

Preferred Qualification

  • ACI Dealing certificate/ Registered Persons Exams (RPE)
     

Essential Certifications

  • ACI (Association Cambiste Internationale)

Minimum Experience Level

  • 10 years’ experience in FX sales in a bank or large financial institution                    
  • 5 years’ Management experience 
  • Strong FX/Global product knowledge including FX derivative solutions
