Position

Product Marketing Portfolio Lead: Transactional, Rewards & Investments

Who You Are

You are a commercially minded marketer who treats marketing as a growth lever, not a cost centre, and a strategic thinker and doer who is equally comfortable defining big-picture direction and executing with precision. You are a data-driven storyteller who combines analytical insight with creative intuition, as well as a collaborator and connector who builds trust across Product, Marketing, and Distribution teams. As a customer champion, you believe in relevance, simplicity, and value as key differentiators, and you bring curiosity, drive, and the ability to make complexity simple.

In this role, you act as a growth architect within Nedbank’s future-fit marketing structure, bringing together the voice of the customer, the strength of the brand, and the power of data to ensure every product in the portfolio delivers real value, measurable growth, and competitive differentiation. You sit at the core of the marketing ecosystem, bridging creativity and commerce to unlock customer and business success.

Job Purpose

The Product Marketing Portfolio Lead is a senior strategic marketer responsible for driving product-market fit, commercial growth, and customer adoption across their designated product portfolio.

Operating at the intersection of marketing, product, data, and commercial strategy, this role ensures that every product within the portfolio is deeply aligned to customer needs, commercially viable, and positioned for growth.

The Portfolio Lead will own the Transactional, Savings & Investments product set and serve as the voice of the customer within product design and the voice of the product within marketing execution.
This is a high-impact, analytical, and creative leadership role that blends strategic storytelling with commercial accountability and digital-first marketing execution.

Job Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Strategy & Market Leadership

  • Define and lead the marketing strategy and growth roadmap for the assigned product portfolio, aligned with business and segment priorities.

  • Develop and maintain deep market, customer, and competitor understanding to inform strategic decisions.
  • Translate insights into targeted marketing plans that drive awareness, acquisition, usage, and retention.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Growth Marketing to integrate portfolio strategies into the broader growth and brand ecosystem.

2. Go-To-Market Excellence

  • Own the go-to-market (GTM) process for new product launches, enhancements, and campaigns — ensuring clear positioning, pricing, and messaging.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Segment, CX, Legal, and Digital) to manage launch readiness and execution excellence.
  • Develop customer and partner communication frameworks, ensuring consistent brand and tone of voice across channels.
  • Measure and report on launch performance, adoption, and market impact; iterate strategies based on results.

  • Build robust business cases for marketing investments, tracking ROI across channels and initiatives.
  • Partner with the Digital team to optimize performance marketing, digital journeys, and conversion funnels.
  • Ensure marketing programs translate into tangible business outcomes through tight collaboration with distribution and digital channels.

4. Data, Insights & Customer Understanding

  • Lead with a data-first mindset, leveraging analytics, segmentation, and behavioral insights to shape strategy.
  • Collaborate with Customer Insights and CX teams to understand drivers of loyalty, churn, and product satisfaction.
  • Identify untapped growth segments and test hypotheses through pilot campaigns and A/B experimentation.
  • Track and share insights on competitive offerings, global trends, and emerging customer needs.

  • Deliver and execute through the central Marketing Operations teams.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, innovation, and commercial focus.
